Horne Scores in 3-1 Defeat at Lafayette

Asia Horne scored for American in the loss to Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. — The American University women's soccer team fell to Lafayette, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Patriot League play.

American (2-14, 1-7 PL) trailed the contest early after allowing a goal 29 seconds into regulation. Krista Kissell scored on assists by Katie Brannigan and Alex Stanford.

In the 29th minute, Asia Horne blasted away her first collegiate goal from 25 yards away. 

Lafayette added two goals in the second from Staford and Brannigan. 

AU finished with an 11-8 edge in shots and a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.

The Eagles will conclude the season on Oct. 28 against Army West Point at Reeves Field. Prior to the start of the contest, AU will honor its three seniors - Kira Flaherty, Kaylee Hillard and Carly Perry
