American Falls to Colgate, 3-0

WASHINGTON — The American University women's soccer team fell to Colgate, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Reeves Field. 

American (1-11-0, 0-4-0 PL) allowed one goal in the first half and then a pair in the second including a penalty kick by Eliza Doll in the 83rd minute. 

Colgate finished with a 10-8 edge in shots with goals from Lindsay Wiley, Emily Crichlow and Doll. 

The Eagles had a chance in the 87th minute in front of the net by Samm Francucci but her back heel attempt was stopped by Colgate reserve keeper Sophia Boggs. The Raiders replaced starting keeper Kelly Chiavaro who did not register a save in 79 minutes of work.

AU keeper Ryleigh Brown made two saves.

American heads to Lehigh next Saturday to take on the Mountain Hawks at 1 p.m.
