WASHINGTON - American University attacker Jackie Lane (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 22, league officials announced Tuesday.
American University women's lacrosse started the week off with a 20-9 victory over Longwood in its last home game of the 2007 season. In the win, Lane put forth her second six point effort of the year, coming off five goals and an assist, leading AU to its season-high 20 goals in a game.
Later in the week, the Eagles headed to Lehigh to battle for the second-place seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Despite losing 10-9 in an overtime thriller, Lane scored three goals and tallied an assist, good for a team-high four points. Down by one with 16 seconds remaining in the game, the North Massapequa, N.Y., native won the draw control, raced down the turf and scored to send the game into overtime.

The standout attacker is first on the team in goals with 38 and is second in points with 50, combining her 38 goals with 12 assists, numbers that also rank her in the top five for both goals and points in the Patriot League statistics.
