WASHINGTON - The American University women's lacrosse team (3-12, 0-7 PL) is closing the 2018 regular season schedule this week with a pair of home games starting with a 1 p.m. draw against Lafayette (4-11, 1-6 PL) on Wednesday.

Although Lafayette earned the win last season, 20-9, the Eagles lead the 17-game series, 10-7. American's last win over the Leopards was a 15-12 decision during the 2016 season.

Junior Fiona Geier had a career-record performance on Saturday during the 12-10 loss to Holy Cross, coming away with 20 saves in her first game since March. That performance is a single-game high for the Patriot League so far this season and is tied for third in NCAA Division I.

Senior Lexi Perez and freshman Emma Vinall led the team's offensive efforts against the Crusaders with a pair of hat tricks. That is Perez's third game in her career with at least three goals as she continues to reset her career-high with 22 goals so far this season.

Vinall, on the other hand, has scored at least three goals in all but four games so far this season and leads the team with 32 for her debut season. Sophomore Erica Skowron continues to work as the team's top distributor with 22 assists so far this season. She has also contributed 14 goals for a team-high 36 points. She has already broken single-game records for assists (6) and points (11) earlier this season and now sits only two assists away from tying the single-season program record.

Junior Sydney Fry leads the team with 31 ground balls while senior Leah Brennan has brought down a team-high 53 draw controls.

Geier leads the team in the backfield with 110 saves in 11 games. She holds a .456 save percentage and averages 13.34 goals against per game.

Lafayette enters the game off a 19-9 loss to No. 11 Navy on Saturday. Jane Kirby leads the team 49 goals and 55 points while Anna Stein has pitched in a team-high 20 assists. Kirby currently ranks second in the Patriot League with 3.27 goals per game while the team is second behind Holy Cross with 9.33 caused turnovers per game.

Quinn Lacy holds the top spot for Lafayette with 33 ground balls while Kristin Schaen and Hannah Davey have shared draw control responsibilities with 67 and 65, respectively. Amelia Heisler and Dana Smith both lead the team with 18 caused turnovers each this season, followed by 17 from Elise Ashford.

Quinn leads the Leopards from goal with a .394 save percentage and 13.72 goals against average.

The Eagles will close the 2018 campaign on Saturday as they host Lehigh at noon for Senior Day. For the latest on American Lacrosse, stay tuned to AUEagles.com and follow the team on Twitter @AU_Lacrosse.
