WASHINGTON, D.C. – Izabella Jade scored all three of her goals to lead a second-half comeback that lifted American University to a 12-10 victory over Gardner-Webb in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Friday at Jacobs Field.

The Eagles won their third match in the last four to improve to 3-4 on the season. The Bulldogs fell to 1-5 after dropping their fifth straight decision.

Emma Vinall also had a hat trick for the Eagles, who got two goals each from Lexi Perez and Amanda Medjid, and a tally each from Leah Brennan and Brooke Stapleton.

Erica Skowron had three assists for the Eagles, while Jade finished with a four-point day after adding an assist for the winners.

Talen Francis had four goals to lead Gardner-Webb, while Amanda Steinmuller and Lindsey Lippert had two each. Steinmuller chipped in with two assists.

Francis scored four goals for GW in the opening 20 minutes, staking the Bulldogs to a 6-3 lead. The Eagles climbed back by halftime, with Skowron setting up a goal from Vinall with 2:10 left to bring AU within 7-6 at halftime.

Perez scored on a free-position shot in the first seven minutes to tie the score, beginning a 6-1 run by the Eagles that gave the hosts a 12-8 advantage with 8:33 to play. Jade had all three of her goals in that stretch, while Medjid and Vinall also scored during the rally.

American generated a 44-20 edge in shots, including a 28-6 advantage after halftime. The Eagles held an 18-6 edge in draw controls.

Katie Sylvester finished with 17 saves in the Bulldog net, while Fiona Geier finished with five for AU.

American is home again on Wednesday, March 14 in a 3 p.m. match with crosstown rival George Washington. The Eagles being the Patriot League part of the schedule at home on Sunday, March 18 at 1 p.m. against Bucknell.
