WASHINGTON – The American University lacrosse team will honor three seniors on Saturday when it hosts Lafayette on Jacobs Field at 1 p.m.
Prior to the match, the Eagles will honor Terese Buechli, Olivia Mangan and Jessica Wojciechowski, as they'll play their final weekend regular-season home game at Jacobs.
All three of those players are among the top five scorers for the Eagles so far this season, with Mangan leading the team with 15 assists.
She is tied with sophomore Jennifer DeSimone for the scoring lead with 28 points, while Wojciechowski (3rd with 25) and Buechli (5th with 11 points) are also strong offensive threats for AU.
American comes into Saturday's matchup with a 3-9 record overall and an 0-4 mark in the Patriot League. The Eagles will be looking to snap a six-match streak without a victory.
Lafayette has dropped four of its last five and comes into Northwest D.C., with a 4-6 record overall and a 1-2 mark in the PL.
Leopards junior Kirsten Wilhelmsen leads the Patriot League in scoring at 3.60 goals per game and has a 10-match streak of scoring at least three points per match.
Sophomore Anna Raymond has appeared in goal in the last two games for the Leopards and had a career-high 16 saves against Colgate.
