American Opens PL Slate Versus Boston University

WASHINGTON – The American University lacrosse team begins its 2016 Patriot League schedule on Tuesday, March 8, when it hosts Boston University in a 3 p.m. contest.

The Eagles enter Tuesday's game with a 3-4 overall record after dropping a 12-11 double overtime contest to Richmond on Saturday afternoon. The Spiders went on a 4-0 run in the final 10 minutes of regulation to force the extra periods before handing American its first home loss of the season.

Junior Madison Hoon and sophomore Jennifer DeSimone each recorded a hat trick to lead American's offense against Richmond.

For the season, senior captain Olivia Mangan leads the Eagles in total points with 24 (10g, 14a), while DeSimone has added 20 points, including a team-leading 18 goals.

Boston University currently owns a 1-3 record on the season and is coming off a 15-13 loss at Dartmouth. Senior Ally Adams led the Terriers with three goals and two assists against the Big Green, while sophomore Mickenzie Larivee recorded four goals.

Adams leads BU with 12 total points (8g, 4a) on the season, while Larivee has scored a team-best 10 goals.
