AU Lacrosse Hosts Richmond in Non-Conference Action

WASHINGTON – Coming off its first road win of the season, the American University lacrosse team returns home on Saturday, March 5, when it hosts non-conference foe Richmond in a 1 p.m. contest.

The Eagles, who have won two games in a row, enter Saturday's game with a 3-3 overall record after defeating Mount St. Mary's, 11-10, on Wednesday. Senior captain Olivia Mangan led American with three goals and three assists, while junior Madison Hoon and sophomore Jennifer DeSimone each added two scores.

For the season, Mangan leads the Eagles in total points with 24 (10g, 14a), while DeSimone has added 17 points, including a team-leading 15 goals.

Richmond enters the weekend with a 3-1 record, its lone loss coming to seventh-ranked Virginia. The Spiders are coming off a 13-7 victory over Old Dominion, with junior Natalia Chaney registering a team-best five points (4g, 1a).

Freshman Mia Castagnero has recorded a team-leading 19 points, including a team-best 14 goals, while Chaney (12g, 2a) and sophomore Kim Egizi (8g, 6a) have added 14 points each.
