Eagles Hit the Road to Face Mount St. Mary’s in Midweek Action

WASHINGTON – In search of its first road win of the season, the American University lacrosse team visits Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, March 2, in a 4 p.m. contest.

The Eagles enter this week's game with a 2-3 record after picking up a 7-5 win over Wagner on Saturday afternoon. Senior captain Jessica Wojciechowski tallied two goals and an assist to lead American, while sophomore Jennifer DeSimone and junior Shauna Norris each added two goals.

Senior Olivia Mangan, who finished with a pair of assists against Wagner, has recorded a team-high 18 points on the season with seven goals and 11 assists and leads the Patriot League in assists per game (2.2).

DeSimone, who leads the Eagles in total goals with 13, has added 15 points this season, while Wojciechowski has recorded 13 points (7g, 4a).

Mount St. Mary's carries an 0-2 record into Wednesday's game after falling to Lehigh, 12-3, on Saturday. Junior Kelly Maloney had two goals to lead the Mountaineers, while senior Steph Rurkowski registered a career-high 18 saves.

For the season, Maloney leads Mount St. Mary's with four points (3g, 1a), while four other players have registered two points each. Meanwhile, Rurkowski has recorded 30 saves and a .566 save percentage.
