Eagles Visit UMBC for Non-Conference Matchup

WASHINGTON – Fresh off its first victory of the season, the American University lacrosse team visits UMBC in a non-conference contest on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m.

The Eagles enter the game with a 1-2 record on the season after defeating Saint Joseph's, 15-12, in their home opener on Saturday.

Senior Olivia Mangan led AU's offense against the Hawks, scoring a program-record eight points on three goals and five assists to earn Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors.

Senior Terese Buechli added four goals and an assist versus Saint Joseph's, while senior Jessica Wojciechowski and sophomore Jennifer DeSimone each added two goals and an assist.

For the season, Mangan leads the Eagles with 12 points (6g, 6a), while DeSimone has added nine points, including a team-best seven goals.

UMBC carries a 1-1 record into Wednesday's game and is coming off a 20-5 victory over VCU. Sophomore Carolyn Jamison scored five goals and two assists to lead the Retrievers against the Rams, while junior Jennie Milligan and sophomore Marissa Davey each added four goals and two assists.

For the season, Jamison leads the Retrievers with nine total points (7g, 2a), while Davey is close behind with eight points (4g, 4a).
