At the American University women’s lacrosse alumnae day in the fall, AUeagles.com caught up with Eleni Vagelatos Kotsis. A native of Oceanside, N.Y., Kotsis graduated from the School of Communications in 1999, and returned to the College of Arts and Sciences to receive her Master’s of Arts in Teaching in 2008.
Kotsis was a prolific scorer on the lacrosse field during her playing days at American from 1996-99. She was a three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, and still holds the school records for career points (179) and goals (160). She also recorded single-season program high of 53 goals in the 1997 campaign, and owns the American record for goals in a single-game with eight against Davidson in 1996.
Watch the following video as Kotsis talks about her playing days at American, her greatest memories as an Eagle, and what it means to come back to Jacobs Field and participate in the annual alumnae day.
