WASHINGTON - American University's Heidi Hershberger (Davis, California. Davis) has been named the 2006 Patriot League Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year, conference officials announced Wednesday. In addition, Hershberger is one of 17 AU field hockey players to be named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Hershberger already has her Bachelor's degree after completing her undergraduate coursework in three years with magna cum laude status. She is now working on her Master's in International Affairs: Foreign Policy. This is Hershberger's fourth straight year on the Academic Honor Roll.
