The American University women's basketball team continues its two-game Patriot League road junket when it battles Colgate on Sunday at 2 p.m. American (8-10 overall, 3-3 Patriot League) has a chance to move above .500 in the PL for the first time this season.
American enters Sunday's game with its confidence higher than its been since early in the season, after the Eagles beat Bucknell on the Bison's home court on Friday, 56-53. The Bucknell game was arguably the hardest fought win for AU this season, and the win evened the Eagles' Patriot League record at 3-3. Today's game could be pivotal for American, as a win would put the Eagles just two games out of second place (given that the PL's two undefeated teams - Lehigh and Holy Cross - square off today).
However, Colgate's Cotterell Court is no easy place to play. American played twice here last season, splitting the games. In the first game, American's Chanel Hunt hit an 18-foot fall-away jumper with 0.5 seconds left for a 58-57 win. However, the Eagles returned for the PL Championship game and lost, 71-60.
The game will be webcast live over the internet via Colgate's web site. Click here to watch to that broadcast. Colgate will also broadcast the game over internet radio. Click here to listen. Live stats will also be available. Click here to access live statistics.
