The American University women's basketball team is hoping to extend its winning streak to three and beat Holy Cross for the second consecutive time when the Crusaders invade on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Crusaders enter the game with a 6-1 overall series advantage, but the Eagles won the last meeting, 81-65, on Feb. 20, 2004. Meanwhile, American is coming off its best Patriot League effort of the season, a 71-64 overtime win over Army on Friday evening.
However, the Eagles face a stiff test. Holy Cross on Friday beat Navy in Annapolis, Md., 73-48. Navy defeated American on Jan. 12, 70-64, on the Eagles' home floor.
