WASHINGTON - Junior Emily Kinneston claimed her first GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season on Monday, after putting in a pair of double figure performances against Bucknell and Lehigh.
Kinneston started the week with a 13-point effort against Bucknell, leading the Eagles to an upset victory over the No. 1-ranked team in the Patriot League, 59-47. She followed that up with yet another team-high performance, tallying 19 points during AU's 70-58 win over Lehigh on Feb. 4.
Kinneston continues to lead the team, averaging 12.6 ppg, while also ranking third for the Eagles on the boards with 4.8 rpg. She has scored in double figures in all but six games so far this season, including a pair of back-to-back career-highs against Colgate on Jan. 2 (17 points) and Bucknell on Jan. 5 (26 points).
Kinneston has led the team in at least on category in all but three games so far this season.
The Eagles will be on the road next with a Feb. 8 contest at Boston University. For the latest on AU Women's Basketball, stay tuned to AUEagles.com and follow the team on Twitter @AU_WBasketball.
