CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The American University women's basketball team placed seven student-athletes on the 2014-15 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Jen Dumiak, who posted a 4.0 GPA during the spring semester as a graduate student in mathematics. Dumiak, who was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America team earlier this season, was one of three Patriot League players to earn a 4.0 for the spring semester.
Dumiak, the 2015 PL Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, was also one of four PL student-athletes to earn Academic Honor Roll distinction for the fourth-straight year, joining senior teammate Arron Zimmerman.
Lehigh led the way with 10 honor roll selections, followed by Bucknell with eight. Four teams—American, Army West Point, Holy Cross and Lafayette—had seven student-athletes each. Meanwhile, all seven of American's Academic Honor Roll selections recorded at least a 3.5 GPA for the spring semester.
To be eligible for the Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
