DANBURY, Conn. – American University women's basketball senior Jen Dumiak has been selected to the 2014-15 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Women's Basketball All-Star third team, as announced by the organization on Thursday.
The award is the latest in a long list of accolades for Dumiak this season. Leading the Eagles to a 24-9 overall record and their first NCAA Tournament appearance, Dumiak was tabbed as the 2014-15 Patriot League Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A first-team All-Patriot League selection, she was selected as the PL Tournament MVP after helping AU claim its first league title.
Dumiak, who is pursuing her master's degree in mathematics after earning her bachelor's degree in just three years, was also voted a first-team Capital One Academic All-American, becoming the third player in program history to earn the honor.
A native of Carlsbad, Calif., Dumiak excelled in her first season as the Eagles' point guard, averaging 17.1 points, 6.2 assists and 5.5 rebounds per contest. She shot 52.1 percent from the field in her senior campaign and set program records for single-season assists (206) and free throw percentage (.922).
Dumiak closed her career ranked second in program history with 478 assists, while ranking fourth in career points (1,399). She also set the new AU standard for career free throw percentage with a mark of .852.
