2017-18 (Redshirt) – Went 2-2 at Shorty Hitchcock Memorial (1/13), posting bonus-point wins in his first two pairings… Opened with a 12-2 major decision over Mike Resignalo of Edinboro, then pinning Shawn Jones of Millersville in 4:55… Dropped his next two to wrestlers from Cornell and Drexel… Also won his opening two matches at the Messiah Open (2/3)… Had a TF over Steve MacDonald of Gettysburg and a repeat 4:00 WBF over Jones of Millersville… Lost matches to wrestlers from TCNJ and Penn State… Went 0-2 at National Collegiate Open… Went 1-2 at Lehman/F&M Open, getting a 3-0 win over Nick Puliti of Temple in the first round.

BEFORE AU –Two-time North Carolina state champion at West Wilkes HS as sophomore and junior… Suffered injury on the way to states as a senior… Three-time state qualifier, including as a freshman… Three-time conference and two-time regional champion… Finished high school career with 147-15 record… Wrestled for seven seasons for Club Arrichion in Charlotte for his HS coach Clay Reynolds…

PERSONAL – Parents are Gina and Greg Roark… Has two older sisters… Majoring in justice and law… Honor graduate… Member of Beta Club and National Technical Honor Society… Volunteered for Relay for Life and Red Cross… Works with youth wrestling club in his hometown… If he could change anything about his sport, he’d hope it would be more widely understood for the work involved… Lists Abraham Lincoln as his non-sports hero… Hobbies are weight training, jogging and fishing.
