Yasur and Makowski Tabbed as Patriot League BRINE Players of the Week

WASHINGTON - After a 1-0 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday, the American University men's soccer team remains the last unbeaten team in the Patriot League standings. As a result of the shutout, Dor Yasur and Matt Makowski were rewarded with Defensive and Goalkeeper of the Week honors , respectively.

Yasur tallied his first-career goal in the win over the crusaders, scoring in the 65th minute on a 35-yard blast from his left back position to secure the Eagles win. Makowski recorded his fifth shutout of the season and his third in league play in the win, making four saves, including two down the stretch to preserve the win. This is Yasur's first honor and Makowski's fourth of the season (two rookie, two goalkeeper).

The Eagles have a two-game week coming up, taking on No. 19 Virginia on the road tomorrow at 7 p.m., before embarking on a two-match stint across New York. American (7-5-2, 3-0-1 PL) will play at Colgate on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
