MORGANTOWN, W.V. — Ethan Shim and Pascal Derwaritsch each scored a pair of goals to lead West Virginia to a 5-1 victory over American on Friday evening. 

Postgame Notes

  • Sophomore Brenner Jarrad scored his first collegiate goal after intercepting a pass from WVU keeper Steven Tekesky in the 59th minute. 
  • West Virginia led 2-0 at the half with goals from Ethan Shim and Pascal Derwaritsch. 
  • The Mountaineers scored three times in the second half on goals by Rushawn Larmond, Shim and Derwaritsch.
  • Freshman keeper Lucas Manso made eight saves. 
  • WVU keeper Steven Tekesky made three saves in the win.
