@AU_MSoccer Looks to Regroup at West Virginia

WASHINGTON — The American University men's soccer team will leave the District for the first time this season to take on West Virginia on Friday evening. 

Game Notes

  • It's Fine — After a 2-1 win over George Mason last Friday, the Eagles fell to George Washington 6-0 on Monday. 
  • Weekly Honor — Junior Fabio Massaro was named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal against George Mason. The last time an Eagle was awarded the Midfielder of the Week was on Oct. 5, 2016, when then-junior Panos Nakhid claimed the award. Jerry Zouantcha was added to the honorable mention list for his goal against Mason. 
  • Scouting West Virginia — The Mountaineers are receiving votes in the first national poll of the season after splitting games at the Aaron Olitsky Memorial Soccer Classic at the College of Charleston. WVU beat the Cougars 2-0 before a 1-0 loss to UNC Wilmington. 
  • Up Next — American will host the Capitol Cup next weekend, welcoming Mount St. Mary's on Friday and Gardner-Webb on Sunday.
