WASHINGTON — The American University men's soccer concluded the 2017 season on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-2 to Army West Point at Reeves Field.
American (4-12-1, 3-6-0 PL) led 2-0 before three unanswered goals by the Black Knights put them ahead.
The Eagles scored first in the 11th minute on Nicholas Dimitrijevic's team-leading seventh goal of the season from Andreas Djurhuus. In the 59th minute, it was Dimitrijevic setting up Max Holdsworth for the deflection.
Army scored its first goal three minutes later on Rex Epps' first of the contest after a failed clear attempt. In the 64th minute, Epps scored his second on a hard shot in front of the net.
The Black Knights took the lead in the 77th minute after AU keeper John Mino misplayed the ball allowing Okheem Riley to tap it in for the game-winning goal.
Army outshot AU 28-4, putting 13 on target forcing Mino to make a career-high 10 saves.
