Alameen Salako scored for the Eagles

WASHINGTON — Alameen Salako scored his first collegiate goal but the American University men's soccer team fell to Lehigh, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at Reeves Field.

Mark Forrest led the Mountain Hawks with two goals and an assist and Alex Greene had a goal and two assists.

Lehigh scored two minutes into the contest off a rebound by Alex Greene. Doyle Tuvesson added the second goal of the half with a shot to the right side of the net.

In the second half, Forrest scored both of his goals in the 55th and 67th minutes. 

Salako put the Eagles on the board in the 77th minute off a free kick by Tim Neumann that was blocked allowing Salako to score off the deflection.

John Mino finished with three saves and Will Smith had five for Lehigh.

American will spend next week on the road with a Wednesday contest against Loyola Maryland and Lafayette on Saturday.
