ALBANY, N.Y. — Tim Neumann scored on a penalty kick in the 76th minute, but the American University men's soccer team fell to Albany, 3-1, on Friday evening.
American (1-5-1) allowed a pair of goals in the first half by Carlos Clark and Owen Fingar. The Great Danes outshot the Eagles, 12-3 with AU keeper John Mino collecting five saves.
Albany added its third goal in the 88th minute on a cross by Nico Solabarrieta that was volleyed into goal by Kaz Boschen.
American returns to Reeves Field for a meeting West Virginia on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m.
