FAIRFAX, Va. — The American University men's soccer team fell 3-0 to George Mason on Sunday evening in a non-conference matchup.
Ryan Mingachos scored twice in the first half for the Patriots and then Miles Jackson added the third tally in the 57th minute to give George Mason the three goal victory.
John Mino made three saves on six shots in his first start for American. American outshot Mason, 14-12 and had 10 corner kick chances. Trey Echazarreta and Jerry Zouantcha led the Eagles with three shots each.
Corey Chambers made four saves for the Patriots. Henning Dirks finished the game with a pair of assists on both Mingachos goals.
American (0-2) will sit idle until next weekend when the Eagles travel west to take on Oregon State on Friday and then Gonzaga on Sunday. Both games will be played in Spokane, Washington as part of the Gonzaga Tournament.
