WASHINGTON — With two games remaining in the Patriot League season, the American University men's soccer team sits in first place in the league standings with 16 points and will host Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Eagles will travel to Lehigh to end the regular season next Saturday. A win by AU on Sunday means the Eagles will host the PL Semifinals and Final the weekend of Nov 11-13.

Loyola, Colgate and Army West Point are also in contention for the top spot but would need the Eagles to drop both games. Two of the three will probably host the PL Quarterfinal matches on Nov. 8 with the third advancing to the semifinals. AU holds the tie-breaker over Army West Point and Colgate having beaten both during the season.

Joe Iraola leads the team with six goals and 15 points. Panos Nakhid is second with 10 points on two goals and six assists. Belanger has a 1.24 goals against average on the season.

Holy Cross forward Matt Villano has six goals and four assists for 16 points. Henry Stutz and Bobby Hurstak have each played nine games in goal for the Crusaders.
