Marquette's Deep Threat Overpowers @AU_MBasketball

MILWAUKEE — The American University men's basketball team dropped its final non-conference tilt to Marquette, 92-51, on Thursday evening at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Larry Motuzis led the Eagles with 12 points. Sa'eed Nelson added 11 points, Cheikh 'CB' Diallo had eight and Marvin Bragg dropped eight off the bench. 

Marquette was paced by Sam Hauser with 29 points, Andrew Rowsey scored 19 and Markus Howard had 10 points. The Golden Eagles dominated from long-distance with 14 3-pointers.

The Golden Eagles led 46-30 at the half. In the second, the hosts shot 57 percent from the floor. 

American finished the contest shooting 36 percent from the floor with nine treys. The Eagles connected on 8 of 9 from the line.  

American will enter Patriot League play after the Holiday break with a 3-8 overall record. Marquette begins Big East play with a 9-3 record. 

The Eagles stay on the road and will take on defending PL champions Bucknell on Friday, Dec. 29.
