Eagles Fall to Lehigh on Hall of Fame Day

WASHINGTON – The American University men's basketball team fell to Lehigh, 70-55, on Saturday at Bender Arena.

Mark Gasperini led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points in 34 minutes. Gasperini shot 7-of-15 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line. Sa'eed Nelson also finished in double digits with 14 points in 35 minutes. Charlie Jones added nine points. 

Kahron Ross finished with a game-high 19 points and went 8-of-10 from the field. Tim Kempton recorded his 100th career double figures contest with 15 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Eagles were able to keep it close in the first and trailed 30-26 at the break. The Mountain Hawks took a 60-39 lead with 8:11 left on a layup by Kempton.
Lehigh shot 60 percent from the floor, hitting 29 of 49 shots, including 4 of 14 from long distance.
