Eagles Fall to Lehigh in Patriot League Semifinal

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Three Lehigh players scored in double figures to lead the second-seeded Mountain Hawks into the Patriot League Men's Basketball championship game with a 78-62 win over American on Sunday afternoon at Stabler Arena.

Lehigh will face No. 9-seed Holy Cross on Wednesday evening with the winner receiving the PL's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
 
American, seeded sixth in the playoffs, finishes the 2014-15 season with a 12-19 record with seniors Jesse Reed and Marko Vasic graduating in the spring. The Eagles will return 12 letterwinners next season, including Patriot League Rookie of the Year Delante Jones.
 
Reed ended his illustrious career with 19 points to finish 14th all-time in American history in scoring with 1,394 points.
 
Junior Charlie Jones had 11 for AU and connected on 3 of 4 from the outside. Delante Jones had 10 points.
 
Austin Price led all scorers with 18 points, while PL Player of the Year Tim Kempton finished with a double-double (17 points and 10 rebounds) and Kyle Leufroy had 10 points.
 
Lehigh led 41-23 at the half after taking an early 12-2 lead. AU cut the deficit to 14 early in the second half, but never was able to work closer.
