WASHINGTON — Fresh off a short Thanksgiving break, the American Univeristy men's basketball team continues its six-game non-conference road trip at the University of New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at noon.
American is coming off a 72-44 defeat at VCU on Wednesday evening. The Eagles finished with three player in double figures, led by senior Jesse Reed with 12 points. Junior Paris Maragkos and freshman James Washington each had 10 points.
Senior Jesse Reed is nearing his 100th-career game as an Eagle, which he should eclipse at Wagner on Dec. 6. Through 96 games, Reed has played in 30 or more minutes 63 times and has reached that plateau In his last 14 games, dating back to last season.
NEW HAMPSHIRE SCOUT:
New Hampshire is 3-1 on the season with wins over Lyndon State (D3), Holy Cross and Brown. The Wildcats' only loss came at UConn. UNH averages 77.3 points per game and is led by Tanner Leissner at 18.0 points per game. The Wildcats have six players scoring in double figures and one player — Iba Camara — averaging a double-double (11.8 PPG, 13.0 RPG). UNH is shooting better than AU in all three major categories, but the Eagles are a better defensive team.
