Pope Posts IC4A Mark as Track Earns Six Top 10 Finishes at Colonial Relays

John Pope set an IC4A qualifying time in the men's 10,000 meter run as the American University men's and women's outdoor track teams posted six top 10 finishess at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va. on Friday and Saturday. 

Pope finished fifth with a mark of 30:45.44 while Matiss Batarags placed third in the 1,500 meter race with a personal-best time of 4:01.09. Joshua Ellis ran a 9:20.48 to finish eighth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

Kelseagh Budris finished 10th in the 800 meter run to record the fifth-fastest time in program history, recording a personal-best time 2:17.38. Ali Tyburski placed 11th in the event with a personal-best time of 2:17.44. Krystal Foster also posted a top 10 result, placing eighth in the 10,000 meter run with a mark of 38:05.80.

The 4x1500 meter relay team of Budris, Corina Velazco, Tyburski and Julia Sullivan posted the best finish of the day for the women's team, placing third in 19:00.17.

The men's team finished 36th overall as Bucknell took home the team title with 101.20 points. American's women's team finished 30th as Rutgers won the women's side with 111 points.

The Eagles will next compete at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Games on Saturday, Apr. 12 in Lewisburg, Pa.
