Ali Tyburski won the 3,000 meter run at the Navy Lid Lifter on Thursday night, posting the seventh-fastest time in program history as the American University women's indoor track recorded six all-time program marks with five top-10 finishes.
Tyburski won the event in 10:16.81, leading a trio of Eagles' runners in the event. Julia Sullivan crossed the line in third with a time of 10:33.53 while Olivia DiBiasio registered an eighth-place result in 11:37.42. Tyburski also ran the first leg of the 4x800 meter relay team with Sullivan, Kelseagh Budris and Krystal Foster that recorded the fifth-fastest time at American in 9:56.81 to place third.
Carly Birkhold also posted a top-10 finish for the Eagles to lead a field of American runners in the mile, placing eighth with a personal-best time of 5:15.38 followed by Foster in 13th (5:33.56) and Claire McDugall in 14th (5:35.23).
The 4x400 meter relay team of Alexa Bolden, Anike Oladeji, Carly Atchison and Jaclyn Anspach had the third-fastest time in program history, placing 11th in 4:17.23. Bolden and Oladeji also posted the second and third best marks at American in the 200 meter dash with times of 27.22 and 27.58 to place 22nd and 25th, respectively. Atchison had a top time for the Eagles as well, with the fourth-fastest time in program history in the 60 meter dash with her 20th place result in 8.44.
The American men's team will compete next in a meet against Mount St. Mary's, Navy and Virginia Commonwealth in Annapolis, Md. on Saturday, January 12.
