ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The American University swimming and diving team faces the final meet of the regular season on Saturday when it travels to the Navy Invitational.

The meet begins at noon in Lejeune Hall on the Academy grounds.

The Eagles will compete with Bucknell, Georgetown, Lafayette, Shippensburg and the host Midshipmen. AU, as well as the other Patriot League teams, will be getting one last look at the same Navy pool which will host the PL Championships from Feb. 14 to 17.

Starting with its winter training trip to Sarasota, Fla., in early January, the Eagles have been in a hard-training phase of the season. AU will taper its training following the Navy Invitational in preparation for the conference championships.

Junior Scott Callander has led the Eagles men's team this season, having his best marks of the year at the U.S. Swimming Winter Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.

On the women's side, the youthful Eagles have added 24 new marks to the all-time top-16 list this season. Many of those have come from a talented freshman class. AU has new marks in all but one event this year.
