Red and Blue, Gordon Austin set a standard of excellence during his
four years on the hardwood. Led AU back-to-back National
Invitational Tournament appearances and one of the biggest wins
ever for the program when the Eagles squad defeated fifth-ranked
Georgetown, 62-61, in the Capital Centre on Dec. 16,
1982. |

Gilgeous, a 2004 inductee of the AU Hall of Fame, was the 1993 CAA Player of the Year. He averaged 24.1 points per game in CAA conference games and 22.7 points overall. Gilgeous ended his career as the second all-time scoring leader in AU history with 2,013 points. He is a member of the 500 rebound club, currently ninth with 688. He is in the top 10 in over 10 offensive categories in Eagle history. |

Thomas' teams went 53-25 during one of the most successful eras in AU basketball history. AU participated in the NIT in 1973 for the first time ever and regularly beat teams like Georgetown, St. John’s, George Washington and Temple. He set freshman and sophomore records for scoring during the 1971-73 seasons, averaging 28.6 points per game, netting 48 in one contest. Thomas is fourth in career scoring average (19.8), seventh in all-time scoring (1,543) and seventh in all-time rebounding (803) |
